KFC Holiday Hours 2026: Christmas, Thanksgiving & More

Planning to grab fried chicken during a holiday? Knowing the KFC holiday hours for 2026 can help you avoid arriving at a closed restaurant, especially around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.

KFC restaurants may remain open during many major U.S. holidays, but the chain does not have a publicly confirmed nationwide holiday schedule that applies to every location. Individual restaurants can follow different opening times, closing times, and holiday operating arrangements.

Christmas Day and Thanksgiving are particularly important dates to verify because closures may affect availability. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve can also involve modified schedules.

This guide explains what is confirmed, which holiday dates need special attention, and how to find accurate operating hours for your nearest KFC.

Quick Answer

KFC holiday hours vary by location in 2026. Many restaurants may operate on holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, but individual opening hours are not guaranteed. Thanksgiving Day (November 26) and Christmas Day (December 25) require particular attention because some restaurants may be closed. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve may also have adjusted hours.

For an accurate answer, check your restaurant using KFC’s official location finder and call the location to confirm its holiday schedule.

KFC Holiday Hours 2026 at a Glance

The following table lists major U.S. holidays in 2026 and the availability information that can be responsibly provided without treating local schedules as nationwide rules.

Important: This table is a holiday planning reference, not a confirmed nationwide opening schedule. KFC’s publicly accessible U.S. location information provides restaurant-specific operating hours but does not establish a universal 2026 holiday timetable.

Is KFC Open on Thanksgiving 2026?

Thanksgiving Day falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

KFC does not have a verified nationwide Thanksgiving opening policy covering every U.S. restaurant. Some locations may close for the holiday, while others may operate according to their individual schedules.

It would therefore be misleading to say that all KFC restaurants are open or that every restaurant closes on Thanksgiving.

What Time Does KFC Open on Thanksgiving?

There is no universally confirmed Thanksgiving opening time.

A location that operates on Thanksgiving may use its usual schedule or a modified holiday schedule. The actual hours must be confirmed with that restaurant.

Before making plans, check whether your selected restaurant is operating, whether it has adjusted closing hours, and whether your preferred ordering service is available.

Can You Order KFC for Thanksgiving Dinner?

KFC offers chicken meals and larger meal options through its regular menu, but Thanksgiving availability depends on the restaurant.

A normal menu listing does not guarantee that a location will be open on Thanksgiving Day or accepting orders at your preferred time.

If you are planning a family meal, confirm the restaurant’s operating status and current ordering options before relying on it.

Is KFC Open on Christmas Day 2026?

Christmas Day falls on Friday, December 25, 2026.

Do not assume your local KFC will be open on Christmas Day. Christmas is commonly identified as a closure day in third-party holiday schedules, but a nationwide closure applying to every KFC restaurant has not been independently established through an official U.S. holiday-hours policy.

This means the most dependable answer comes from the specific restaurant you intend to visit.

What Are KFC Christmas Day Hours?

There is no verified chain-wide Christmas Day opening and closing time for 2026.

A restaurant’s ordinary Friday hours should not be treated as proof that it will operate on Christmas.

To verify Christmas Day service, check the location’s official information and contact the restaurant directly as the holiday approaches.

Does KFC Deliver on Christmas Day?

Christmas Day delivery is not guaranteed.

Even when a restaurant operates, available ordering methods and delivery schedules may differ from its dine-in or pickup arrangements.

Check the restaurant selected in KFC’s ordering system to see whether delivery is offered for the intended date and time.

KFC Christmas Eve Hours 2026

Christmas Eve falls on Thursday, December 24, 2026.

KFC Christmas Eve hours are location-dependent. Some restaurants may operate, but their usual Thursday closing times do not necessarily apply on this holiday.

Does KFC Close Early on Christmas Eve?

Early closing is possible, but no universal Christmas Eve closing time has been verified.

Instead of relying on a suggested nationwide time, check the exact restaurant.

This distinction is particularly important for evening orders, when an ordinary weekly schedule may not reflect holiday changes.

Can You Order KFC on Christmas Eve?

Ordering may be available wherever a restaurant is open and accepting orders.

KFC’s official location pages provide access to restaurant-specific ordering information. However, an advertised regular ordering service does not guarantee availability throughout Christmas Eve.

For larger meals, confirm the restaurant’s operating hours and available ordering methods beforehand.

KFC New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day Hours

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are two additional holidays when customers should verify their local restaurant’s schedule.

Is KFC Open on New Year’s Eve?

Some KFC restaurants may operate on New Year’s Eve, but their hours are not universally confirmed.

If you plan to order dinner late in the evening, verify the closing time rather than assuming the location will remain open until its regular Thursday closing time.

Is KFC Open on New Year’s Day?

KFC may be available on New Year’s Day at individual locations, but no single nationwide opening time can be guaranteed.

For New Year’s Day 2027, check the selected restaurant’s current schedule closer to the date.

Is KFC Open on Easter Sunday?

Easter Sunday fell on April 5 in 2026.

There is no verified nationwide rule establishing identical Easter Sunday hours at every KFC restaurant.

Individual locations may operate according to their regular Sunday schedule or use different arrangements for the holiday.

The correct approach is to check the specific restaurant rather than assuming that regular Sunday hours automatically apply.

Does KFC Have Special Easter Hours?

KFC’s U.S. location information does not establish a universal Easter-specific timetable.

Any special opening or closing arrangements must be confirmed locally.

Regular menu availability should also not be confused with the availability of a special Easter promotion.

Is KFC Open on Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day?

Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day are major U.S. holidays when many customers want quick-service meals.

KFC restaurants may operate on these dates, but no universal guarantee applies to every location.

Memorial Day Hours

Memorial Day fell on Monday, May 25, 2026.

A KFC restaurant may follow its normal Monday operating schedule or a location-specific holiday schedule.

Exact Memorial Day operating hours are not universally confirmed.

Independence Day Hours

Independence Day fell on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

KFC’s usual Saturday hours cannot be assumed to apply automatically on July 4.

Customers should confirm whether their chosen restaurant is open and whether any adjusted hours affect pickup, drive-thru, or delivery.

Labor Day Hours

Labor Day fell on Monday, September 7, 2026.

KFC locations may operate on Labor Day, but opening and closing times can depend on the restaurant.

Consult its official location information for the most relevant schedule.

Do KFC Holiday Hours Vary by Location?

Yes. KFC’s official U.S. restaurant locator publishes individual operating schedules, and those schedules are not identical across the chain.

This matters during holidays because an opening time listed for one restaurant cannot reliably be applied to another.

To illustrate the difference, official KFC location pages were checked for restaurants in Pennsylvania and Florida.

Examples of Different KFC Operating Hours

The following schedules are normal published operating hours, not verified holiday hours.

These examples demonstrate that even ordinary restaurant schedules differ.

They do not establish the hours these restaurants will observe on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or another holiday.

For practical planning, the specific restaurant matters more than a generalized chain-wide estimate.

Are KFC Restaurants Open on Federal Holidays?

A federal holiday does not automatically require a private restaurant to close.

KFC locations may choose to operate on dates such as Veterans Day, Presidents’ Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Juneteenth.

However, federal holiday status alone does not establish opening hours.

For example, a restaurant could operate on Veterans Day but have a different schedule on Christmas Day. The correct information must come from that location’s current operating arrangements.

When a holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, do not assume the restaurant will follow its normal weekday schedule.

KFC Drive-Thru Hours on Holidays

KFC offers drive-thru service at many U.S. locations, but drive-thru availability is not universal.

Official restaurant pages identify available services, including drive-thru at selected locations.

Is the KFC Drive-Thru Open on Christmas or Thanksgiving?

Holiday drive-thru service depends on whether the restaurant is operating and whether its drive-thru is available during the relevant period.

A restaurant having a drive-thru does not prove that the service will remain open during a holiday.

Before traveling, verify both the holiday operating hours and drive-thru availability.

Does the Drive-Thru Close at the Same Time as the Restaurant?

A universal rule covering every KFC location has not been verified.

Use the selected restaurant’s current service information or contact its staff for confirmation, particularly on holidays with possible schedule changes.

KFC Delivery and Pickup During Holidays

Ordering availability is another important detail to check before a holiday meal.

KFC’s official restaurant pages advertise online ordering, pickup, and delivery at eligible locations. Those services are subject to restaurant availability.

Can You Schedule a KFC Order for a Holiday?

Do not assume a future order can be scheduled just because the restaurant supports online ordering.

Available ordering dates, time slots, and fulfillment methods must be checked in the current ordering system.

Are Delivery Hours the Same as Restaurant Hours?

Not necessarily.

A restaurant’s published operating schedule does not, by itself, confirm that delivery will be available throughout those hours.

This is especially important on Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Eve.

Does KFC Have a Special Holiday Menu?

KFC’s regular U.S. menu includes fried chicken meals, sandwiches, tenders, sides, and larger meal options.

However, the availability of these items on a holiday depends on whether the selected restaurant is operating and offering them.

A nationwide 2026 holiday-exclusive menu or special holiday meal package has not been established through the official information reviewed for this guide.

Can You Buy Family Meals on Holidays?

KFC offers family-sized meal options on its regular menu.

Whether a particular meal is available for holiday pickup or delivery must be checked with the restaurant.

For larger orders, confirming availability in advance is more dependable than assuming that every advertised meal can be ordered on a holiday.

Does KFC Offer Holiday Discounts?

KFC publishes promotional offers and rewards information through its official website and participating restaurant pages.

However, ordinary promotions should not automatically be described as Christmas, Thanksgiving, or New Year’s specials.

No chain-wide holiday discount applying to every KFC restaurant throughout the 2026 holiday season has been verified.

Prices and participating locations may differ.

How to Check KFC Holiday Hours Near You

The most reliable way to avoid a wasted trip is to check the restaurant where you actually plan to order.

Follow these steps:

1. Open KFC’s official website. Find the restaurant location search feature.
2. Enter your ZIP code, city, or state. Choose the exact KFC restaurant you intend to visit.
3. Review its location page. Look at the listed operating hours and available services.
4. Check the ordering system. Select that restaurant to see the ordering options currently offered.
5. Call the restaurant. Ask whether it will open on your chosen holiday and what time service will end.
6. Recheck close to the holiday. Published regular hours may not reflect a temporary holiday adjustment.

Google Maps can provide a useful secondary reference, but its regular opening hours should not replace direct restaurant confirmation for a major holiday.

What Should You Ask When Calling KFC?

For a holiday visit, confirm the precise information you need.

Ask whether the restaurant will open on the holiday, what its opening and closing times will be, whether pickup or drive-thru service will operate, and whether the meal you want can be ordered.

These questions are particularly useful for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and evening visits on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.

KFC Regular Hours vs. Holiday Hours

One common source of confusion is the difference between a restaurant’s normal weekly schedule and its holiday schedule.

A restaurant displaying a normal Friday closing time does not necessarily mean it will stay open until that time on Christmas Day.

Likewise, a location listed as open on an ordinary Thursday is not automatically confirmed as open on Thanksgiving.

Always match the schedule to the actual holiday date.

Sources & Verification

This guide was reviewed on October 12, 2026, using KFC’s official U.S. restaurant location information, including published operating schedules and service details for locations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Holiday, Florida.

Those official pages confirm that regular opening hours differ by location and provide restaurant-specific contact and ordering information.

A universally applicable U.S. holiday schedule for 2026 was not established from the official information reviewed. Therefore, Thanksgiving and Christmas closures, adjusted holiday hours, and special service arrangements are presented as requiring local confirmation rather than as guaranteed nationwide policies.

The 2026 holiday dates were also checked for calendar accuracy.
