KFC Holiday Hours 2026: Thanksgiving, Christmas & More

By Ethan Parker
Updated: Sep 29, 2026

KFC holiday hours are not governed by one publicly posted nationwide schedule for every U.S. restaurant. Regular operating hours already differ from location to location, and holiday schedules can change further based on the restaurant and date.

For 2026, the safest approach is to verify the specific KFC you plan to visit rather than relying on a generic holiday timetable. This is especially important for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day, when restaurants may close, reduce hours, or follow a location-specific schedule.

Quick Answer

KFC does not currently publish a complete nationwide 2026 holiday-hours calendar showing identical opening and closing times for every U.S. restaurant. Holiday availability should therefore be treated as location-specific unless KFC confirms a broader policy for a particular holiday.

Before making a holiday trip, check your restaurant through KFC’s official location finder or ordering system. For major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, direct confirmation with the restaurant is advisable.

KFC Holiday Hours 2026 at a Glance

Holiday	2026 Date	KFC Status
New Year’s Day	January 1	Check selected restaurant
Easter Sunday	April 5	Check selected restaurant
Memorial Day	May 25	Check selected restaurant
Independence Day	July 4	Check selected restaurant
Labor Day	September 7	Check selected restaurant
Thanksgiving Day	November 26	Not universally confirmed
Christmas Eve	December 24	Check selected restaurant
Christmas Day	December 25	Not universally confirmed
New Year’s Eve	December 31	Check selected restaurant

The table intentionally does not assign unverified nationwide opening or closing times. A restaurant’s regular schedule also should not be assumed to apply automatically on a holiday.

Are KFC Restaurants Open on Holidays?

Many KFC restaurants operate throughout the year, but there is no single current public holiday schedule that can safely be applied to every U.S. location.

KFC’s official location pages demonstrate why local verification matters. Regular schedules can differ considerably even before holiday adjustments are considered. Some restaurants close earlier, while others remain open much later.

A location that normally operates until late evening may still use reduced hours on a particular holiday. Conversely, regular hours displayed for another day are not proof that the restaurant will be open on a holiday.

Is KFC Open on Thanksgiving 2026?

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

A universal U.S. opening schedule for all KFC restaurants on Thanksgiving 2026 is not currently confirmed. Do not assume your restaurant will operate simply because its regular Thursday hours are displayed online.

As Thanksgiving approaches, check the specific restaurant’s official KFC location information and ordering availability. For the most reliable last-minute confirmation, contact the restaurant directly.

Is KFC Open on Christmas Day 2026?

Christmas Day falls on Friday, December 25, 2026.

There is not currently a verified nationwide 2026 Christmas Day schedule establishing identical hours or opening status for every KFC restaurant in the United States.

Christmas is one of the dates when checking your individual restaurant is particularly important. A regular Friday schedule should not be interpreted as confirmation of Christmas Day service.

Is KFC Open on Christmas Eve 2026?

Christmas Eve is Thursday, December 24, 2026.

KFC Christmas Eve hours should be checked by location. Even when a restaurant is operating, its holiday closing time may differ from its normal Thursday schedule.

If you plan to order later in the day, verify the restaurant’s current hours shortly before visiting rather than relying on regular weekly hours.

Is KFC Open on New Year’s Day 2026?

New Year’s Day is Thursday, January 1, 2026.

KFC’s exact New Year’s Day hours can depend on the individual restaurant. A nationwide opening and closing time should not be assumed.

The official location page for your selected KFC is the best starting point for checking operating hours, followed by direct restaurant confirmation if holiday-specific information is unclear.

Is KFC Open on New Year’s Eve 2026?

New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday, December 31, 2026.

Restaurants may operate differently from their standard Thursday schedule, particularly around closing time. KFC does not currently provide a universal 2026 New Year’s Eve closing time that can be applied to every U.S. restaurant.

Check your restaurant on the day you plan to visit.

Is KFC Open on Easter 2026?

Easter Sunday falls on April 5, 2026.

A nationwide Easter schedule covering every KFC location is not publicly confirmed. Because regular Sunday hours differ among restaurants, check your selected location rather than assuming standard Sunday service will apply.

KFC Hours on Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day

For Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, location-specific verification remains important.

In 2026:

Memorial Day: Monday, May 25
Independence Day: Saturday, July 4
Labor Day: Monday, September 7

The fact that a restaurant displays regular Monday or Saturday operating hours does not establish its schedule for a federal holiday. Check the specific restaurant before traveling.

Why KFC Holiday Hours Can Differ by Location

KFC’s own U.S. location pages show meaningful differences in normal operating schedules.

For example, currently published schedules for individual restaurants include locations opening around 10:00 or 10:30 a.m., while others open at 11:00 a.m. Closing times can likewise range from relatively early evening to midnight or later at certain restaurants.

That variation makes a chain-wide holiday opening or closing time unreliable unless KFC specifically announces one.

Holiday hours may introduce another layer of variation. This is why the hours displayed for your actual restaurant matter more than a generic national timetable.

Examples of Regular KFC Location-Hour Differences

The following examples were checked against official KFC location information in September 2026. These are regular published hours, not guaranteed holiday hours.

KFC Location	Published Regular Schedule	Key Difference
Galveston, Texas – 2801 Broadway St	10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Mon–Thu; later Fri–Sun	Weekend hours differ
Apopka, Florida – 356 E Main Street	10:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. Sun–Thu; until midnight Fri–Sat	Later Friday/Saturday closing
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania – 6557 Carlisle Pike	10:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m. daily	Earlier closing
Ebensburg, Pennsylvania – 4490 Admiral Peary Highway	11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. daily	Later opening and earlier closing
Charlotte, North Carolina – 2639 Freedom Drive	10:00 a.m.–midnight Sun–Thu; until 1:00 a.m. Fri–Sat	Late-night operation

These examples demonstrate location variation; they should not be used to predict holiday hours at these restaurants or elsewhere.

How to Check KFC Holiday Hours Near You

Use KFC’s official location finder and search by city, state, or ZIP code. Select the individual restaurant rather than relying on general chain information.

The location page can display the restaurant’s current operating schedule and available services. Around major holidays, also check whether the restaurant is accepting orders through KFC’s official ordering system.

For Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or another holiday where the displayed information is unclear, call the restaurant directly. Google Maps can provide a useful secondary check, but holiday hours shown there should not override current information from the restaurant itself.

Regular Hours vs. Holiday Hours

One common source of confusion is treating a restaurant’s normal weekly schedule as its holiday schedule.

If a KFC location normally lists:

Thursday: 10:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m.

that does not automatically mean it will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. when Thanksgiving happens to fall on Thursday.

The same principle applies to Christmas, New Year’s Day, Easter, and other holidays. Regular operating hours establish the normal schedule; holiday availability needs separate confirmation.

Drive-Thru Hours on Holidays

Do not assume the drive-thru remains available whenever the dining room or restaurant is listed as open.

KFC’s official location finder identifies services offered by individual restaurants, including drive-thru at many locations. However, holiday-specific drive-thru schedules are not universally published.

Check the individual restaurant and its available services before traveling.

Delivery and Mobile Ordering on Holidays

KFC offers online ordering at many U.S. restaurants, but ordering availability can depend on the selected location.

On a holiday, seeing a restaurant’s regular hours does not guarantee that every ordering method will operate for the entire period. Delivery availability can also differ from pickup or restaurant operating hours.

Selecting your actual restaurant in KFC’s ordering system is a practical way to see what is currently available.

Does the KFC Menu Change on Holidays?

A special nationwide holiday menu should not be assumed unless KFC officially announces one.

Individual restaurant pages may display current promotions and menu options, but limited-time products and promotional pricing can be restricted to participating locations. Availability may also change over time.

If you want a particular bucket, meal, side, promotion, or other item for a holiday gathering, check the current menu for your selected restaurant before ordering.

Does KFC close early on Christmas Eve?

There is no verified chain-wide Christmas Eve closing time that applies to every U.S. KFC. Individual restaurant schedules should be checked.

Sources & Verification

This guide was reviewed in September 2026 using KFC’s official U.S. location finder and individual KFC restaurant pages. Official location information confirms substantial differences in normal operating hours among U.S. restaurants.

KFC’s currently available public information does not provide enough evidence to assign one nationwide 2026 opening and closing schedule to every major holiday. For that reason, holidays without a verified universal policy are marked for location-specific confirmation rather than being given assumed hours. Pasted text

Before You Go

For KFC Holiday Hours 2026, the key point is simple: check the restaurant you actually plan to visit. Regular hours vary across KFC locations, and a normal weekday schedule does not guarantee the same hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Easter, or another holiday.

Use KFC’s official location information first, check current ordering availability when relevant, and call the restaurant directly when major-holiday hours remain unclear.
